The three main political parties have sketched out their safety policies ahead of the general election on 8 June, addressing mental health, HSE funding and Brexit. Labour was the first party to directly address health and safety after the election was announced. Speaking to the Scottish TUC on 24 April, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said that, if the party won power, it would "properly fund the Health and Safety Executive, shamefully cut back under this government".
