The market has started where it left off before Christmas. On the supply side it is very competitive, with distributors trying to tempt farmers to buy now with prices at pre-break levels. But farmers are more concerned with the extraordinary weather conditions and reviewing their financial position with Single Farm Payments now beginning to arrive on farm, and there is little sign of recovery for cereal, livestock and milk prices.
