FAI-Eastern Region, Kolkata, organised Golden Jubilee Seminar on "Sustaining Soil Health in Ensuring Food Security" at National Institute of Research on Jute and Allied Fibre Technology (NIRJAFT) during November 21-22, 2013, commemorating the establishment of FAI-ER office 50 years back at Kolkata in 1963. The Programme was inaugurated by Dr. Deepak Sarkar, Director, National Bureau of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning, Nagpur. One hundred eighteen delegates representing State Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Universities, ICAR Institutes including scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendras and fertiliser industry participated in the Seminar.
