Derek Carpenter provides his insight on the ever changing, and perhaps unfair way in which Companies in Surface Finishing have encountered the influence of the EU and the impact on their daily decisions. Having been at the centre of constant change, Derek says "The best thing we can ever offer any business is choice. In recent years we have seen choices disappearing through regulation that does not always seem fair or proven and suppliers who have asked us to "trust them", without sharing enough information with us. We have beaten to death issues on product performance and safety and today's big issue is the one that involves us all - our Environment. It's time for everyone to ask for and receive the information they need. It's the only way to take control of our choices again".
