Radtech tells Finishing about the benefits and advantages of radiation cured coatings. Radiation-cured coatings offer great advantages, and numerous applications in the wood and paper, overprint varnish, optics and electronics, plastics and inks markets realize benefits today from the reduced energy consumption, environmental impact and waste generation, smaller footprint, and faster cure times offered by this technology. Metal substrates, however, account for only a small fraction of the energy-cured coatings market. In fact, in Europe only 1% of the UV/EB resin market (UV: Ultra Violet Radiation; EB: Electron Beam Radiation) is consumed in metal coating applications, despite the potential to realize the same advantages.
