A classic style on an unlikely site

Using regionally adapted plants, this Texas gardener recreated the look of a traditional English garden. I had always dreamed of having an English-style garden, even though the climate in Texas, where I live, could hardly be more different from the climate in England. I have long admired the legendary Gertrude Jekyll's approach to design. She used walls, fences, and shrubs for structure, and flowering plants to weave a lush tapestry of color. I had seen examples of this popular design style adaptedto various regions of the United States, so 1 decided to try to create my own Texas-style version.
