GSFC's Young Farmers Training Programme Involvement of Youth in Decision Making for Agriculture Activities

Since 1986, Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. (GSFC), Vadodara is organizing 8 days intensive residential Young Farmers Training Programme in collaboration with various Agricultural Universities of Gujarat. So far 98 such programme has been organized in which around 3000 young farmers from 2760 villages have taken the advantage. The young farmers are given training of scientific agricultural practices to get more farm productivity witft the use of advanced technology and balanced use of fertilisers. By such efforts, farmers can be motivated to use new farm technology in place of traditional technology. Initial three days, training is imparted by the scientists of Agricultural University of respective area. Four days theorical and practical training at various units of GSFC Agro Development and Agro Services Department and one day field trip to the Agri. Research Station 8c Krishi Vigyan Kendra are organised. in the series, 98th Young Farmer Training Programme for the farmers of Saurashtra area was organized from 01.01.2015 to 08.01.2015 in collaboration with Junagadh Agricultural University (JAU) in which 37 young farmers from different villages of entire Saurashtra participated.
