Plascoat's Talisman 30 'drive' towards making the coating one of the most versatile, low-cost alternatives to polyamide (nylon) powders has accelerated with its selection as the coating solution for steering components on the new Ford Mondeo.The column components, which also feature on Jaguar cars, are being dip coated by specialists East Midland Coatings at the company's Hinckley, Leicestershire, base.Around 30,000 components a month are being coated to a thickness of 800 microns and that throughput is likely to rise to 50,000 a month by the end of the year.
