Coreopsis -- Give these cheery long bloomers a place in the sun

For beginning and advanced gardeners alike, coreopsis (Coreopsis spp and cvs.) has proven to be an indispensable asset in the garden,. It's one of the easiest plants to grow and offers a fantastic array of blooms that appear from spring to early summer into fall. It's sometimes referred to as tickseed, a translation of its Latin name meaning "bug-like seed." With all of its wonderful qualities, I think it deserves a better name than that. And, like many other gardeners, I've never called it tickseed. I just call it coreopsis.
