Global investment in renewable energy held up pretty well last year, even though lower prices for coal, oil and gas boosted the competitive position of fossil fuels. New data published by the UN Environment Program (UNEP) and the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management show that spending on renewable energy projects amounted to $286 billion in 2015.
