Market stable with some signs of slight increases

Sulphur prices overall were relatively stable across the globe this week, although there were signs that some expect slight increases in the near future. Aramco announced its June price at $142/mt FOB, up $2/mt from May, offering a cautiously optimistic view. It remains to be seen where Tasweeq and Aramco, with May prices of $139/mt and $140/mt FOB respectively, will post for June, though bids on Tasweeq’s current 35,000 mt tender that closes on May 19 will be a key determinant. Most expect some increases from these sellers as well, possibly slightly higher than Aramco’s level, but at this stage any large increases seem unlikely.
