India's DAP import policy remains focus of attention

Players continue to closely monitor developments in India following a round of discussions held this week to address pending issues under the new Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS). Following today?s Inter Ministerial Committee (IMC) meeting, the IMC is understood to have set the "parity import price? for DAP at $500/mt CFR, which is $57/mt lower than the most competitive offer for MAP submitted in the RCF March 3 tender. What remains unclear is whether the "parity import price? for DAP will be fixed on a monthly or quarterly basis.
