CEMIN builds 100,000t/y H2SO4 plant

COMPANIA EXPLOTADORA de Minas (CEMIN) is constructing a 100,000t/y sulphur-burning sulphuric acid plant to support two copper producing projects in northern Chile. The acid will be used to supply the company's requirements for its Dos Amigos SX-EW project, which produces 10,000t/y of copper, and for its other 10,000t/y leach operation at Catemu, which started production earlier in 2008.
