FERTILIZER PRICES that have achieved record highs this year following a prolonged upward trend could shortly see a reversal of fortune. In the case of urea, market speculation abounds that the quantity on offer and the evident eagerness on the part of traders to dispose of prior positions may signal a reversal of the relentless surge in urea prices since early March this year. All eyes are currently on the Indian state importing agency MMTC which conducted an electronic tender for the import of an unspecified quantity of urea on 3 September.
