Ma'aden targets 6m tonnes/y of DAP at Ras Az Zawr

SAUDI ARABIAN Mining Company (Ma'aden) is targeting what it describes as an "immediate" expansion of phosphoric acid and DAP production at its Ras Az Zawr phosphate fertilizer complex under construction about 85 km north of Al Jubail on the Kingdom's Arab Gulf coast. The expansion project scope is initially for one additional DAP line, with upstream debottlenecking or plant upgrades, which will add another 1m tonne/y of DAP production capacity, Ma'aden said in a presentation made at British Sulphur's Phosphates 2008 conference held 17-19 February in Paris.
