Fosfertil sees 9% rise in Q1 net

BRAZILIAN FERTILIZER major Fertilizantes Fosfatados (Fosfertil) reported Thursday its preliminary financial results for the first quarter of 2010. Combined net profit reached R$40.8 million (US$ 23.4 million), 9% higher than in the same period of 2009, when the company made R$37.5 million. Net revenue in the period under review was 17% at R$558.3 million. Detailed results will be reported after board approval in the coming days.
