Chinese potash prices stable as market awaits new contract

The Chinese potash market remains seasonally slow as players await a decision on the H1 2015 contract price following negotiations between major suppliers and Chinese representatives. Domestic prices are currently seen stable at RMB 2,020-2,120 ($325-341)/mt EXW. There have been no new developments on contract negotiations, with producers well supplied due to a slight influx of imports towards the end of 2014 from BPC, but talks are believed to be taking place in the coming weeks and the deal is very likely to be completed by the Chinese New Year in February at the latest.
