NORTH AMERICAN PRODUCTION: Potash output (KCl only) in the US and Canada during October was 1.04 million st, a jump of 23% from September and a 58% gain from October 2009, according to producer data published by The Fertilizer Institute. July-October North American KCl production was 3.14 million st, a gain of 76% over the prior year period. Producers ended October with 961,000 st of potash in inventory, down 2% from the end of September and 57% less than at the close of October 2009. Producers’ shipments in October were 1.06 million st, 2% more than September and a 112% increase on October 2009. July-October producer shipments were 3.77 million st, almost double the 2009 figure.
