THE BOARD of Brazil’s Fosfertil on March 29 approved the company’s investment programme for the 2010-16 period. Total investment could reach R$4.1 billion ($2.3 billion), 80% of this - some $1.8 billion - will be spent on expanding capacity. Much of the expenditure on capacity expansion will go on Fosfertil’s flagship project, the Salitre phosphate development, where the company intends to spend some $1.5 billion in the period to 2016 (FW Online, August 14, 2009).
