Brazilian imports & output fall on inventory reduction

OFFICIAL STATISTICS for 2009 have been released by Brazilian Fertilizer Industry Associations. Fertilizer deliveries in the year totalled 22.5 million mt, just 0.2% above the 2008 volume. As a result of the strategy by the country's producers to reduce inventories in their hands, imports fell 28.7% - by some 4.4 million mt - while domestic production decreased by 5.7% (505,000 mt).
