ICL’s profits up 37% in first nine months

ISRAEL CHEMICALS Limited (ICL) reported net income of $779 million in the nine months to September 30, 2010, a rise of 37% on $568 million over the same period in 2009. ICL’s sales were $4.27 billion during the same period in 2010, up 28% on $3.33 billion over the prior period in 2009. For the three month period, revenues were $1.39 billion, an increase of 4% compared with the third quarter of 2009. The modest Q3 performance reflects a reduction in international MOP prices combined with a weakening US dollar against the euro despite increased sales to Europe.
