Fosfertil sees 80% drop in 1H net profit amid lower fertilizer prices

THE BOARD of Brazilian fertilizer major Fosfertil earlier this week approved on August 10th the company's financial statements for the first half of 2009. The company reported a combined net profit of R$81.8 million (US$44.3 million), 80% down from the same period of 2008, when it made R$402.8 million. Net revenue decreased 22% to R$1.23 billion.
