Vale strengthening its presence in the fertilizer sector

BRAZILIAN MINING major Vale confirmed recently that the company is targeting the start-up of its Bayóvar phosphate mining operation in northern Peru for mid-2010. The company is undertaking the project through a Peruvian subsidiary, Miski Mayo, and is targeting a nominal production capacity of 3.9 million mt/year.
