Canpotex concludes further sales into SE Asia

Further sales have been made this week into Brazil and Southeast Asia at $750/mt CFR and $735/mt CFR respectively, suggesting demand is starting to pick up in these large consuming regions. Both have effectively been out of the market since the fourth quarter of 2008. With the long-term contract negotiations with China underway, the volumes involved are more symbolic than confirmation of a return to normal purchasing levels. In total, eight cargoes (three from BPC, three from K+S, two from Canpotex) have been booked for Brazil for March/April shipment and three cargoes from Canpotex into Malaysia/Indonesia, again for April/May shipment.
