Teck Cominco sees major Q4 losses

TECK COMINCO has reported a net loss of C$607 million ($488.3 million) for the fourth quarter of 2008, compared with a net profit of C$280 million in the fourth quarter of 2007. The company attributed its weak financial results to the fall in base metal prices and the rapid decline in demand for its products.
