EuroChem to increase environmental investment at Kovdorsky

RUSSIAN FERTILIZER major EuroChem has announced that it is to increase spending in 2009 on environmental conservation to Rb72.5 million ($2.16 million) at its Kovdorsky mining and concentration plant in the Murmansk region. The funds will be used to carry out projects aimed at the protection of the air and water environment and utilisation of waste, according to a company media release. EuroChem spent Rb53 million in 2008 implementing measures to protect the environment around its Kovdorsky production facilities.
