The latest GTIS data for December show 206,000 mt exported from Canada comprising 113,000 mt for the US and the balance for Australia. This brought total exports for the year to 2.58 million mt marking a 28% decline on 2013 and a 31% reduction on the five-year average. While export volumes to Australia, Mexico and Chile remained buoyant through 2014, deliveries into the US, China and Israel were down on recent years, according to the available data reported. In fact no shipments were loaded for either Israel or China in the second half of 2014.
