US NOLA: Granular rises, falls

The week started with barges selling to the low $290s/st FOB New Orleans, but business also was recorded down to $280/st FOB. However, some traders noted that as prices for loaded barges fell, freight demands to destinations along the Mississippi River system climbed from sellers. As a result some barges offered at the end of the week to the Twin Cities in Minnesota had $30/st spot freight attached even though contract rates are $21-23/st.
