IN THE wake of the latest US government grain estimates for domestic and global supplies, forward commodity prices began rising, pulling some fertilizer values with them this week. International urea values benefitted the most, while US suppliers were less confident in urea prices given the large list of import cargos already destined for New Orleans and the East Coast. By the end of the week, the rate of increase in corn and soybean values had slowed on the CME (formerly the Chicago Board of Trade) futures contracts, and forward wheat values had begun to pull back.
