I recently rebuilt the engine of my 998cc Mini and upgraded the engine. Performance has significantly improved but it still has the original drum brakes. I would like to uprate them at the front whilst maintaining the character of the car - it is lowered slightly and had 4.5" reverse rims fitted. I have read in older Mini tuning books that an easy way to uprate Mini brakes was to fit Ferodo AM4 linings to the front brakesbut I can't find any. Is there an equivalent shoe that I can fit to bring about a similar improvement or must I fit front disc brakes?
