Corn, soybean gains support fertilizer prospects

Corn values showed modest recovery in the wake of the latest global grain supply and demand survey from USDA analysts, after forward contracts had lost value in the days leading up to the January 12 report. Soybeans also showed a modest gain in the November 2015 CME contract at the close of the market, while wheat was down slightly. However, the gains in US corn and soybean appear likely to support forward fertilizer demand more than the decline in forward hard red winter wheat prices.
