ISRAEL CHEMICALS Limited (ICL) is planning sizeable increases in phosphate rock and potash production and capacity, and is also considering further major capacity expansions in both sectors. The company said it is continuing its strategy of expanding production and capacity of its key fertilizer products as a result of increased demand for these products and a rise in their profitability. Early this week, ICL reported a 43.3% rise in net profit for the year 2007, largely on account of the strong performance of its fertilizer division (see financial story on page 7).
