Terra Industries plans restart of one Donaldsonville plant

TERRA INDUSTRIES said 7 February that it plans to restart its Donaldsonville, LA ammonia plant during the third quarter of 2008. The output of this facility will replace 400,000st/y of purchased imported ammonia at more favourable gross margins, the company said. Market observers said that Terra's announcement coincides with recent cuts in urea capacity in the Ukraine that will increase availability of ammonia, and could potentially reverse the recent surge in prices.
