Stronger euro helps buyers and sellers

The strength in the euro has aided sellers to achieve higher netbacks in US dollar terms while at the same time providing buyers with offers at lower numbers in euro. Trade picked up substantially in France, despite the holidays, when importers lowered quotes by as much as ?8/mt from last week when the value of the euro August 24 exceeded $1.16/?, but some of the selling interest tapered off when the European currency slipped closer to $1.12/? in August 27 trading.
