Flood at Solikamsk-2 'cannot be stopped'

Flooding at Uralkali’s Solikamsk-2 potash mine in Russia is at an 'average level' and cannot be stopped, ITAR-TASS reported on January 30. "The inflow of water into the mine now averages about 500 cubic metres per hour and it can not be stopped," Alexander Baryakh, general director of the Mining Institute of the Russian Academy of Science, told the Russian news agency.
