US NOLA: Prompt Gulf barges up sharply, upriver values flat

Confirmed granular urea barges sales were as high as $320/st FOB New Orleans for barges positioned up river or moving north, with rumors of business as high as $325/st FOB. The biggest jump this week has been for barges still in the Gulf and load dates over the nearby window. Prices for those barges had reached $305/st FOB at press time. Last week a sale was claimed as low as $261/st FOB for a Gulf barge.
