PPL has announced plans to invest Rs 600 crore ($ 136 million) which include a new sulphuric acid plant, with a capacity of 2,000 mt/day, as well as enhancing the efficiency of the existing sulphuric acid plant and phosphoric acid plant. Once completed, the new plant – which will have an annual capacity of 150,000 mt/year – should reduce the company's reliance on imports.
