Imports raise concern over European nitrate prices

Prices for AN and CAN from the FSU remain supported by high domestic volumes and increasing prices. Following the earlier increases in AN and CAN posted by Yara, K+S Nitrogen recently announced CAN prices in Germany largely in line with the Yara postings. K+S posted northern Germany at ?257/mt CIF inland with a premium of ?2/mt for the south. Competition from imports remains substantial, and major subsequent increases appear unlikely to succeed.
