CAN application in Germany has started, albeit very slowly, as the weather has improved over the past couple of days. OCI increased its local prices by ?5 for March last week to ?280 cif inland, while Yara is reportedly still officially at ?275. However, transactions are taking place at ?264-268 cfr, as stocks levels cover the first two applications. A better picture of the balance of the supply-demand situation is expected after the second application. Import volumes from Slovakia and the Czech Republic continue to be low as producers there focus on their domestic markets.
