MORE THAN 300 delegates met in an optimistic mood at the Fertilizer Latino Americano 2011 conference in Lima, Peru this week. The gathering was dominated by talk of upward pressure on prices and firm demand for the majority of fertilizer products. There was a consensus that nothing short of a dip in soft commodity prices or a slowdown in global growth would prevent a continuation of the recovery from the lows of 2009.
