Intrepid's Q1 results overtake 2007's income total

THE US' Intrepid Potash Inc. reported net income of $33.1m for its first quarter ended 31 March, compared to 2007's first-quarter net income of $6.4m and exceeding all of 2007's net income of $29.7m. "Potash pricing began a steep climb in the fourth quarter of 2007 as global supplies were unable to keep pace with demand," the company said.
