US AGRIBUSINESS and food company Bunge has reported a net income in the fourth quarter of $245m, 7% down on its performance over the same period last year ($264m). In contrast, net sales for the quarter jumped 82% to $14,018m ($7,683m). The company's net income for the year, ending 31 December 2007, was up 49% from $521m to $778m.
