Market rebound evident on emerging Chinese demand

The international sulphur market is rebounding following the return of Chinese buyers. Latest price indications for Middle East sulphur are quoted firmer at $235-240/mt CFR netting back to $205-210/mt FOB, with small lots for September deliveries already booked in the low $240s/mt CFR. With inventory levels both inland and at ports reaching critically low levels, demand from China is set to begin in earnest next week following the week-long Eid holiday season across the Middle East. Adnoc’s September contract price announcement has been delayed to early next week.
