Talks continue on India’srequest for a price cut

The initial reaction by suppliers to pleas for lower prices fromIndian importers has been an uncompromising refusal. Talksare still taking place and are due to continue at the FAIconference in New Delhi on December 7-9. Falling sales inIndia mean that contract volumes of 5.79 million mt may notbe needed suggesting that the suppliers have so far givenprices priority over volume.
