INDIA: Phosphoric acid deliveries during April-December 2010 totalled 1.84 million mt P2O5, which is on a pro-rata basis is lower than the total for April 2009-March 2010 at 2.72 million mt P2O5. It is expected that the volume supplied in the first quarter of 2011 will be substantially lower given that OCP/Morocco will only be largely meeting supply agreements with its joint-venture partners – Zuari, PPL and Tata. It is understood that the quantities allocated for each is between 15-20,000 mt/month P2O5. The quarterly quantity allocation for Moroccan tonnage is expected to be no higher than 60,000 mt P2O5 against a previous allocation at 80-100,000 mt P2O5. As indicated earlier, this is largely attributed to higher captive utilization of the feedstock with the start-up of Bunge's joint venture 600,000 mt/year DAP/MAP/TSP plant in Morocco in February/March.
