M. East prices up sharply; FSU bids also higher

The 15,000 mt parcel booked by Qafco with Mitsui this week provided a netback at $445-447/mt FOB Mesaieed to the producer. The tonnage is due to load mid-February, and is likely intended for Southeast Asia. The price was up close to $30/mt on the Sabic sale concluded last week at $417.50/mt FOB Jubail, also to Mitsui. Sabic was also in discussions with traders on second spot February cargo at prices similar to the Qafco number, but had yet to conclude at press time.
