SAFCO completes construction of 1.1 million mt/year urea plant

Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company (SAFCO) has completed mechanical and construction work on its 3,500 mt/day granular urea plant, the company said in a statement on the Saudi bourse. Trial operations will take three months before the plant begins commercial production. The SAFCO-5 urea plant had been due to start production in Q4 2014, but was delayed until Q1 2015 after construction work fell behind schedule.
