Olam signs gas deal for Gabon ammonia, urea plant

SINGAPORE-BASED Olam International Limited, a global supplier of agricultural products and food ingredients, on March 28 announced that it has signed the Implementation and Assignment Agreement and Definitive Gas Supply contract with West Africa's Republic of Gabon for gas supply to its proposed greenfield ammonia and 1.3 million mt/year urea production complex in Gabon. The project is a joint venture with the Gabon government where Olam will have an 80% participation and Gabon the balance 20%.
