Vale: Net earnings 150% higher in 1H 2011

BRAZILIAN MINING giant Vale on July 28 reported net earnings of $13.3 billion for the first half of 2011 which is 150% higher than for the same period of 2010 when it made $5.3 billion. Operating revenue in the same six-month period increased 72% to $28.9 billion, while cash generation grew 98% to $16.7 billion.
