PhosChem prices 6-month DAP deliveries at $677/mt CFR India

The market was somewhat taken by surprise this week when news from India emerge of a DAP contract price settlement between US export consortium PhosChem and major buyers IPL and IFFCO covering 1 million mt of DAP for October- March 2012 deliveries at $677/mt CFR, up up $65/mt on the previous six-month contract. Observers expected that negotiations would have dragged on into the first half of September. The relatively swift contract conclusion suggests that the DAP market will remain buoyant going forward into the remaining months of 2011.
